THE STORY SO FAR

Dancing Lotus are not your average band. A raging orchestra comprising singer, rapper, a violinist, bass, guitars, beats, piano and drummer, the Lotus gang have hit on a winning musical formula and are rapidly rising to great things.

Already recording 3 albums and 2 EP’s over the four years the guys have been together after meeting at Lincoln University. Lotus ran their own music showcase called “The Pillow Sessions” which attracted top talent from across the country to perform to crowds of 300+. With a couple of line up changes and moving from an acoustic sound the NEW signature lotus sound is a mixture of high octane power, brooding soul and sharp thunderous beats!

Much has been made of their eclectic sound, energetic stage presence and diverse range of musical styles, trainers, and hairdos…but in the end, it’s their ability to craft songs that sets Dancing Lotus aside.

More recently the band have relocated to London and are in the process of gigging across the country, and are recording new material in the studio.

In April 2011 the London Based the Hip Hop/Rock act teamed up with Percussive Folk artist Elliott Morris to release ‘Spend Some Time’ which reached number 1 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart. The track was championed by BBC introducing shows across the country and received support from artists such as Newton Faulkner.

In August 2011 Dancing Lotus won the BBC Introducing competition with Dean Jackson and they performed on the main stage at the Summer Sundae Weekender supporting Givers, The Bees, Graham Coxon and The Maccabees.

Dancing Lotus are moving forward for 2012 and are planning gigs across Europe and are currently seeking new management/representation.
